For Promoters: Do I Need Internet At My Event?
Will RaceReady's system work without internet access, or must I get internet available on race day?
In short, KIND OF. You need an internet or cellular connection for RaceReady's system to function completely. However, RaceReady has an offline function that will allow it to work without an internet connection—so long as the system gets connected to the internet at some point to upload results. You must have the offline system in order for this function to work. Speak with your RaceReady account manager to make sure.
We recommend using a wired landline internet connection where available, and using a dedicated cellular data line (via a SIM card installed in a mobile access point provided by RaceReady) where cellular is the next best option.
If cellular data is not an option due to poor coverage, you can explore satellite internet options for the facilities you use. Those are more expensive and more limited, however.
