Where do I find my MAC address, and what does it do?
Your RFID receiver unit has a unique code that allows our system to find it on the internet and communicate with it. It's similar to an IP address, but it never changes. It's formatted as six pairs of alphanumeric digits (e.g. 23:00:E6:T1:00:88). (And no, it doesn't matter whether you're using a Windows or Apple computer—in this case "MAC" stands for "Media Access Control", not "Macintosh")
Your equipment comes pre-programmed to communicate with your RaceReady account, so you should typically never have to deal with your MAC address. However, we know that exceptions will occur. You're reading this, so you may very well be an exception.
Your MAC address will be shown on a sticker on the RFID receiver unit inside the RFID Electronics Hub. It may appear as follows:
You do not have access to your MAC address settings inside your RaceReady account. Should this information need to change (e.g. perhaps you had to swap RFID Receiver units), work directly with your RaceReady representative to get that information changed within your account. You can contact client services and we'll be eager to assist you.
